01 What is PIM Genesis exactly ? Who is it for ?

PIM Genesis is a business incubator fully supported by the Postgraduate Institute of Management. It is located at the PIM premises in Borella and has been initiated to help entrepreneurs among PIM students to realize their dreams in setting up a business of their own. The facility provides facility based services as well as mentoring to start-up businesses. Please find more details under Services section.
02 How can I be of help ?

PIM Genesis is a fully fledged business incubator setup with the support of the Postgraduate Institute of Management (PIM) Borella. Apart from being incubated, there are numerous ways you can join hands with us. At Genesis, we are constantly looking for partners strengethen our business focus and widen our business scope. If you think you can work with us to promote entrepreneurship in the country, please do let us know.
Other than that, if you believe you can join with us as a mentor / a sponsor or a vendor of business solutions, we look forward to working with you to boost mutual benefits and contribute to the Sri Lankan economy.
03 How can I register with the facility ?

PIM Genesis is setup to aid start-up businesses. In order to enroll, first you need to forward your business plan to the incubator in order to be evaluated. You can do this by sending a mail to incubator@pim.lk.
Once it is done, you will be invited to a screening where you can present your business idea and the business plan to a panel of judges from the advisory board of the incubator. If you are deemed fit to join with the incubator, you can sign a MOU with the incubator and you will be enrolled to the full service provided by us.
(The incubator is inclined protect the integrity and authenticity of your business plan. The incubator will come to a Non-Disclosure Agreement with you in order to confirm this.)

How is it different from other incubators ?

PIM Genesis is a product of the 'PIM Family'. The services provided are of the highest quality and the rich network of connections consists of past and present PIM students as well as the PIM faculty. It is also supported by PIM Alumni and thereby is exposed to the cream of successfull businesses in Sri Lanka. It is also, a very cost effective service when compared with other incubators in the country.
05 How long can I be incubated ?

After you register with PIM Genesis, you will get incubator facilities for one year. During this one year, there will be quarterly feedback sessions to evaluate your progress and improve upon the relationship between the incubator and you. After one year, you can extend the agreement to one more year on demand, if you feel you are in need of further incubation. After a maximum of two years of incubation, you are expected to fulfill your potential as a viable business firm.
